Working as an official railway detective during the winter of 1906, Jim Stringer covers York Station for the North Eastern Railway Company and encounters the Lost Luggage Porter, who tips him off about a gang of railway thieves, a group that he is asked to infiltrate in order to stop a proposed robbery and getaway across the English Channel.
